The Cause
The Verve Energy Port to Point Fun Run is proud to announce this year's event charity is the Albany Community Hospice.
The Hospice was first opened on donated land and buildings on the Albany foreshore in November 1990. Demand for its services continues to grow and in February 2002 a new complex was opened adjoining the Albany Regional Hospital.
The Hospice is a not-for- profit organisation that relies in a large part on donations, fundraising and a large group of volunteers who are there to assist the registered nurses and other support staff. Facilities are maintained to a very high standard, which necessitates the constant upgrading of equipment.
The Albany Community Hospice Board, to maintain a continuity of service, is constantly seeking financial support and additional volunteers to spread the load and to provide the best possible support to the patients with a life-threatening illness and their families. All money raised by the event through donations and participant sponsorship will be donated to the Albany Community Hospice to continue their fantstic work.
