The Verve Energy Port to Point is a long-running, community event held annually that dates back to 1977. This year’s event includes two distances; a new 10km Run and a 4.5km Walk or Run.
The 10km Verve Energy Port to Point run begins at ANZAC Peace Park and makes its way up York Street to StirlingTerrace, continues along Brunswick Street and winds its way along a scenic but challenging coastal path to a well deserved finish at Emu Point. This year it will also include the Be Active 4.5km Walk or Run which is open to those who still want to Be Active but are not up for the challenge of the main event. There are also plenty of prizes to be won and a great time to be enjoyed by all so start your training today!
We encourage all participants and supporters to make a donation or raise money for Activ with all the fundraising and donations going to support Activ’s local services – Accommodation, Alternatives to Employment, Albany Leisure Network and Activ Business Services. For more information on Activ, please visit Activ at www.activ.asn.au or contact Activ in Albany on Phone 9841 3241. To fundraise, all you need to do is to ask your friends, families and colleagues to sponsor you to complete the course or simply to make a donation with all proceeds raised going directly to the work of Activ in Albany. If you would rather support the event with your time we also need 30 volunteers to help out on the day. If you would like to commit to being a volunteer please click here and list your full name and contact details.
In the meantime, mark Sunday 1st November in your diary and sign up to be part of this year’s Verve Energy Port to Point or the Be Active 4.5km Walk or Run. Whatever your level of fitness, there is a place reserved for you at this year’s event!
